Three brewers, one promise.

The Bavarian family-owned breweries Schneider Weisse, Erdinger Weissbräu and Brauerei Gebr. Maisel cultivate a brewing tradition that is handed down for generations: The “Bayerische Edelreifung” or Bavarian double maturity method.
The owners Georg Schneider, Werner Brombach and Jeff Maisel personally stand for this craft of wheat beer brewing: Three brewers, one promise.

The founding members

“For six generations, our family name has stood for the special quality of our wheat beer. The Bavarian double maturity method, or “Bayerische Edelreifung” has been handed down to me over the ages by my great-great-grandfather. This makes it all the more important to fight for this traditional Bavarian craft and pass the knowledge on to the next generation. You don’t have to change the original to make excellent products.”

“The private brewery ERDINGER Weissbräu is over 130 years old and throughout this time we have always brewed our beers according to the procedure of the “Bayerische Edelreifung”. Tradition and quality are the most important factors in the art of brewing – and of utmost importance for the brewery and me personally. Although the Bavarian double maturity method takes more time and effort, we believe it is worth it. Lovers of wheat beer can taste the difference and that is why we continue to use this method.”

“Four generations of our family have now been shaped by our passion for brewing wheat beer. And this is precisely why we ensure our wheat beer is allowed to develop its unmistakable aroma in peace and quiet – using the method of the “Bayerische Edelreifung”. The unique flavour is created with the best brewing malts, hops from Bavaria, water from the nearby Fichtel Mountains and yeast from our own cultivation. We are happy to take the time needed to achieve perfection and will continue to brew our Maisel’s Weisse with heart and soul in the future.”
